Audio Tracking Service

I offer audio tracking to masters who don't have the time!

I have been tracking for years, both my releases and others, including for masters sitting-in-my-hotel, VeryTheatricalTrades, MozartWasCrazy, yikescloud, and others. In exchange for the full release files (the files that your are releasing to be traded out), I will happily track audios for you. I'm open to track anything that has a setlist, and if you can direct me towards the one that most-fits the show you saw I would be grateful.

You must credit me "FaceInTheMirror" as the tracker. I will add "Tracked by FaceInTheMirror" in the comments section of the metadata. Do not delete this credit.

Things I can do:

  • Tracking audios with setlists in Audacity.

  • Edit metadata and add cover art for both the tracked and untracked files.

  • Trim untracked files.

  • With concerts I can add the "artist" as the person actually signing each song, such as if there's a g/p instead of blanket adding the entire cast list.

  • Track naming conventions based on your preference. My default it "[Song Name]" and "Scene" but I am willing to add scene names, do Song/Scene, or make up song and scene names based on your preference/availability of an official setlist.

  • Willing to do non-English/French shows if they have clear song/scene breaks. Track names will be either in the language of the performance, or English, based on your preference.

  • Send you the labels when I am done (I also have a folder below of all of my tracking labels that I update semi-regularly).

Things I will not do:

  • Most concerts without setlists unless you agree to Scene/Song track names. I don't know media enough to figure out each song.

  • Audio editing beyond trimming.

  • Same-day turnaround. Unless agreed prior, if you want audios tracked, please message me at least 7 full days before you plan to release.

  • Shows: Jesus Christ Superstar, South Pacific

If this is interesting, please fill out my contact form and I will get back to you.

Tracking Help

I already have a collection of ready-to-go labels for a variety of shows, including different variations (such as ITW with and without Our Little World). I upload these to Encora (unless someone beat me me to it XD), but I also have all of them uploaded for anyone's use (see below). I've done my best to specify the differences between labels, but if anything is unclear feel free to reach out. There are free to use for anyone whether your tracking your own released,

These labels were designed to work with Audacity. I recommend reading over the .txt files to figure out which one is closest to the show that you saw.

Disclaimer: most of the these labels were made by me, but a handful are ones I've received from others.

Tracking Labels

Tips for tracking:

  • Treat these more like a helpful tool or guide, not the be all/end all of what a final tracked audio should be.

  • ]If the labels are longer than the show audio, start tracking from the back. Slide the audio to the end of the label and go from there. If the audio is significantly shorter, start from the front, but in most cases, I've found starting at the end least to less issues with the labels overlapping as you're editing.

  • Even if the labels don't match the show 100%, I prefer to use them anyway as names can be edited and tracks added/removed to fit the updated show.

  • If you spend a lot of time tracking the same shows, you will start to visually see where the songs start and end which will speed up this process.

  • Every time Audacity updates something will be different. Keep this is mind if you want to track for others as it can take soem time to get used to the changes.

  • CRTL+1 and CRTL+3 are for Zoom/Un-Zoom based around where the black line is. CRTL+B over a highlighted area will make a label for that section.

  • You can use full-show labels to make Act 1/Act 2 tracks easily, just delete the ones you don't need in each act. However, using act 1/act 2 split labels to make full show labels is tedious. â€‹
